Speaking from 1 Timothy 4:8, Brother Ben Mozingo gives several examples of the promises of God to the saints. God made promises to Noah, Abraham, and Moses. He always keeps his promises. The greatest of the promises God has made to man is the promise of eternal life through the death of his son Jesus Christ on the cross.

God the Father planned salvation and chose His people. Jesus the Son secured the salvation of all God’s children through His death on the cross. The Holy Spirit visits each of God’s children through time, touching their hearts and taking up residence there. Only after all of these works are accomplished does the child of God have a part to play through obedience and service to God.

Ben Mozingo reads from Galations 4. The law teaches us that we cannot be righteous before God by our own effort. In our day, as in the days when Christ walked the earth, some miss the lesson that everyone is sick and needs a physician. In John 8, a group of self-righteous religious leaders brought a woman before Christ to force Him into a decision that would compromise His ministry. They were focused on her sin, not considering their own hearts and attitudes in the matter. Then Christ stooped and wrote on the ground before these men. What He wrote served to bring the conviction of sin to every member of the crowd. They quietly left the scene, no longer eager to demand judgment. We too need to be convicted of our sinfulness before we see our need of grace. Then we can rejoice in the promise that where sin did abound, grace did much more abound.
