An announcement by Elder John Melvin, pastor of Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church:

Every third Sunday night of the month at 5:30 pm starting February 20th, Camp Creek Church will host a series which I call Foundations of the Faith. We will try to continue and compliment the work which Elder Harter put together by covering some of the same issues but also handling the issues which make us as Primitive Baptists unique. I have spoken with him regarding this meeting and appreciated his blessing.

My prayer is that this evening service will be a blessing to Primitive Baptists in the Atlanta area by furthering our understanding of the “faith once delivered to the saints.” We will end our service with fellowship and a simple meal.

On January 7-9, 2011, Bethany Church held a special meeting dedicating our new sanctuary to the service of God. All nine messages from that special dedication meeting are now available for download or streaming. See them all here.

Our thanks to all the ministers and members of our sister churches around the country who shared this joyful occasion with us. We called on the following ministers to preach for us, and God blessed them all:

We are excited to announce our first Sunday worship service in our new sanctuary is set for Sunday, December 5, 2010. Coffee and donuts start at 10:00, and singing at 10:30. We will serve lunch after morning worship services. Come and join us!

Although the building is not finished, September 19 was the first time our congregation was able to gather in the shell of the new sanctuary with walls and ceilings in place and try out the acoustics. We loved the sound and look forward to trying it out with pews and carpet in just a few more weeks.

The exterior of our new building is nearly complete. Trees and sod are installed and the parking lot has been paved.

Inside, the sanctuary ceiling is now drywalled and primed.

The tower is nearing completion and the large sanctuary windows are in place. Brick and stone work should conclude this week, along with rough internal dry wall. Insulation will be in place, and framing for the sanctuary ceiling will follow.

The Farrin family will host a luncheon Sunday 7/25 following Bethany’s morning services at Friendship Christian School. Normally, we would not have lunch at church on that Sunday and most families would eat at some nearby restaurant. The Farrins have planned to prepare and serve lunch for everyone who wishes to stay, and asks that each family contribute to the building fund the cost of the meal they would have eaten at a local restaurant. Make your plans to join us for an excellent meal and good fellowship.

This brief video was shot on Monday, June 14 during a walkthrough of the sanctuary. We still expect it to be completed in August.

Below you can see a view from the kitchen area looking east through the fellowship hall. Since this photo, roof decking has been installed and the entire building is roughly dried in.
